Thaksin banished from Dubai, fleeing to Montenegro: Thepthai

BANGKOK: -- Ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra has been expelled from Dubai and is presently living in exile in Montenegro since Tuesday, Democrat MP Thepthai Senpong said on Wednesday.

Theptai quoted a report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to back up his claim.

He said United Arab Emeriates authorities asked Thaksin to leave after he continued to use Dubai as base for his anti-government activities.

Thaksin made a phone-in on August 13 at the red-shirt rally to submit the pardon petition.

that story smells fishy...

He was always welcomed with open arms in Dubai as he seems to have large investments in that country.

I am wondering why he was "expelled" abruptly... He's a fox on the run but he can't hide and run forever...

I believe something in Taskins logistics went dead wrong!

Aide: Thakskin not ejected from UAE

Noppadon Pattama, legal adviser for former premier Thaksin Shinawatra said it was incorrect that the UAE requested the fugitive politician to leave the country because it does not want to be a base for his political activities.

Mr Noppadon said the UAE has never requested Thaksin to leave, as claimed by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's spokesman Thepthai Senpong.

"What Mr Thepthai said is a lie," Mr Noppadon said. "The UAE has never asked him (Thaksin) to leave the country."

He also said that Thaksin holds a Montenegro passport and had spent a few nights in the UAE before travelling to Africa to look at diamond mines.

''He is visiting three countries in Africa, but I won't reveal what they are because I don't want Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya to cause him any problems," he said.

Lets await the denial.

Without a doubt Thaksin has business deals in Dubai. And with their economy in tatters even by other countries standards they probably wont want to lose anyone with a bit of money.

Weird if Thaksin voices concern for safety. Stuff like that reduces numbers.

Why are you so aggressive with M Nappadon?

He's just making his job.

You want to send him to the goulag?

Thaksin not banished from UAE

BANGKOK: -- Fugitive ex-Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra left the United Arab Emirates because he is invited to make official visits to three countries in Africa, Thaksin's former legal advisor Noppadon Pattama said Wednesday.

Noppadon said he already telephoned Thaksin to check accuracy of a report that the UAE banished Thaksin because the country did not want him to use the country as a base to attack Thailand.

"Khun Thaksin dismissed the report as groundless. The UAE government did not ask him to leave the country. He left the country recently for Montenegro to do some business, returned to the UAE and stayed there for two nights."

"Khun Thaksin is now visiting three African countries as guest of those governments. He plans to give consultation on poverty alleviation and introduce the economy sufficiency farms."

Advice: R@pe your country and government coffers for as much money as you can, re-invest some of that money into vote buying to allow you to syphon off money for longer - Alleviates (personal) poverty :)

I think Mugabe is already quite familiar with Thaksin style methods. Maybe he can teach him a thing or two though.

Seems like Dubai is turning into a refuge for the political dreg of the world now that Mugabe has been staying there recently. Makes one want to take a holiday in that artificial paradise, not. :)

Which 'mission' is it then, Diamond mines or Poverty alleviation?

Same contradictory theme when Mr Thaksin ran Thailand Inc. :)

Heard on CNA that the govt have banned the rally from taking place at the original venue? Nothing like inflaming reds with another rag if it is true.

Pity Nation's archives do not stretch very far, and no chance of retrieving those old images, but here is what search came up with:

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/search/ads...gabe&page=6

From January 2002:

President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe is back in Bangkok for his second visit in three months.

Mugabe has expressed his delight with the warm reception he has received.

It is not surprising he is back considering there are not too many countries in the world that would allow such a brutal, ruthless leader to set foot within their borders.

Perhaps the Thai government has discovered an undeveloped tourist market.

Who will be next to enjoy our fair country, perhaps Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosevic, Osama bin Laden? For a thugfree Thailand Bangkok

>>>

And from a couple of months earlier - the days when Thaksin forged the ring of Democracy in Thailand

Unsavoury companion in a Thai tuk tuk

It disgusts me to see pictures of our prime minister riding a tuk tuk with Robert Mugabe, the president of Zimbabwe.

Next to Osama bin Laden, Mugabe is probably the most despicable person on the planet.

Is our PM unaware of the misery Mugabe has inflicted on Zimbabwe, or doesn't he care? Why is he willing to sell our country's soul to such a devil just for a little more trade?

Lies again........ Our Prime minister is not banned or fleeing anywhere!!!!! This website is getting more and more anti and lies. I hope the mods delete this shit and stop allowing defaming posts.

Our Prime Minister will return in the near future and then our country will progress again. Please stop the lies, reporting is good, but constant negative lies are not, and only cause this website to lose credibility.
