Sunday at approx 13.00 someone took a dive from the Suan Dok hospital.

Maybe he had a terminal illness that pushed he / she over the top.

Whatever, the impact when, he / she hit the ground was certainly terminal.

Maybe the current financial crisis had something to do with it and I am not going to speculate on the reasons.

But, it is worthy to remember that during the crisis that hit the realm mid 1997 two persons every hour (24/7) were commiting suicide in Bangkok alone. Don't have the figures for the realm as a whole.

hmm confusing... so looks like the financial crises effects differently to cultures.

My dear home country Finland is always ranked top in suicides. When we last had financial crises the suicide figures dropped... when everyone was doing bad it didn't bother that much if you where broke.. i guess.
