Hey Guys!

Ive attempted to look on the internet through google, but site's vary a bit between what they say.

I figure the people living in Phuket would be the best to ask this question. I have always visited Phuket May/June or November/December.

I will be comming this time on October 9th and have noted this is the rainy season.

My questions are - What do you believe the average temp is in October?

How long does the rain last usually when it starts?

Is there a decent chance I may get a fair few rain free days?

Does the rain effect the night life in Phuket? (Bars, Hollywood, Tai Pan)

Any info would be great!

Thanks in advanced.

There are no reliable forecasts.

In October the wind changes direction. In that period there is usually unsettled weather, but before and after that the weather could be ok.

Jai Dee has a pinned thread at the top with links to Thai Bureau of Met

Click here for the TMD's general forecast for Thailand.

Cheers & Good Luck

Cheers for that! I had already visited one of those, but the others are a good read!

I was also hoping to get some local's opinions on the matter aswell though :) The reason for this, currently we are going way above our average temp in Sydney, and the weather is not acting the way it normally would.

Also Im still curious regarding the nightlife, and how the rainy reason effects it?

Cheers!

As Stevenl so rightly points out, it's unpredictable.

You pays your money and you takes your chance.

And if all else fails............ :) .. :D .. :D .

Right now we are experiencing big rains, so I get to put off my laundry duties once again.. :D

Hahaha yes, understandable.

Well the last unanswered question was the night life, or is that also the same? - You cant predict if the bars and clubs will be open due to the rain??

No, you can't because they'll always be open. :D

God help anyone flying or sailing today. The weather is the worst so far this rainy season - I hope the airport has got all its equipment functioning and is keeping the runway dry. :)

The above are averages - I always thought an average was a means of transport, as my old dad used to go to work 5 days a week on an average ! :)

Sorry couldn't help myself.

We must have grown up watching the same children's television programmes, probably on the same style, steam driven B & W T.V., with the curtains drawn for better reception and covered over with a cloth a night to keep the Gremlins out ! :D

P.S. (That's if I'm interupting your avatar correctly.)

Steam driven, black and white... ✔ check

Curtains drawn.... ✔ check

Cloth cover at night (always wondered what that was for)... ✔ check

(But it was "Quatermas and the Pit" that really scared the bejesus out of me!)
