Sometimes user posted images display properly, sometimes I just get the words "user posted image". Is this something that other people are experiencing, or is it just me?

If someone links to a picture, avatar or emoticon hosted elewhere, it will not show up if thta server is down or the file is moved/deleted.

Or do you have problems with pictures hosted at thaivisa.com? (-->> Right click -->> Properties

For instance.

When I looked at this post the first time

mean_vs_nice.jpg

sheloves--.jpg

I could view the second image but above it the words "user posted image" were displayed.

But now I can see both?

The "My Assistant" function doesn't work for me. When I click it, it just opens up another window that duplicates the one I'm viewing. I have the setting to allow popups from TV. No biggie because the "view new posts" feature does work.

What browser are you using? What type of popup blocker?

Could you please try with another browser and let us know.

Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem!

Most pics I can see, but the ones where I see' User posted image' never show up for me, they will stay like that everytime I visit the thread(?)

So whats it all about? Web servers can't be down all the time can they?

I also notice other people comment on them as they can see them but I can't.

It's a mystery to me :o

Anyone know a way around it?

When this happens to me (using Firefox), I just hit the "refresh" or "reload page" button, and the picture usually appears the second time. This makes me think that the forum s/w doesn't wait long enough to get a response from the image hosting site, especially when there is more than one image from the same site to be accessed. Maybe an admin can look into this?

I had this problem. Check that you have JavaScript enabled.

I was using Opera and it worked fine. Thie problem is with Firefox. No external blocker--just what's built into the browser.

Yep, it's enabled.

BTW, I was at my son's house this afternoon. I installed Firefox 1.01 on his machine, went to TV, and it worked fine, including the "my assistant." :o

In that case, maybe a clean install of v1.0.1 will work on your PC, too. Try uninstalling, deleting the "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" folder (if it's still there), and then re-installing.

But I think your problem is with one of your settings - either JavaScript advanced settings, or pop-up settings.

Thanks. I'll compare my settings against those on my son's laptop and go from there.

I'm getting the same in Firefox 1.04. Most of the images aren't appearing, just "User posted image". :o

Tiz, I get the same problem as you but it is intermittent.

I always load piccies from TV album. Sometimes I cannot upload because a dynamic page link is not allowed and then one minute later it accepts it.

My guess is that RDN is correct and it is your ISP service not working fast enough and the forum times out on you.
