I have recently renewed my Thaivisa Health insurance, but understand that I may not receive my new medical card for the current year which began on 1st September for up to another week.

What would happen in the hopefully unlikely event of my needing inpatient treatment prior to the receipt of my new card? Would a hospital be prepared to accept my old (now expired) card? Or would they be more likely to insist on my paying the whole cost out of my own pocket?

I would particularly welcome hearing from anyone who has been in this unfortunate position.

Please show your old card - the 'number' is the same so when the hospital contacts the Thai Health claims department they can easily cross check :)
