I have recently renewed my Thaivisa Health insurance, but understand that I may not receive my new medical card for the current year which began on 1^st September for up to another week.

What would happen in the hopefully unlikely event of my needing inpatient treatment prior to the receipt of my new card? Would a hospital be prepared to accept my old (now expired) card? Or would they be more likely to insist on my paying the whole cost out of my own pocket?

I would particularly welcome hearing from anyone who has been in this unfortunate position.

Please show your old card - the 'number' is the same so when the hospital contacts the Thai Health claims department they can easily cross check
