Lannatyne Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Back in the UK, there is still no National ID Card system. Those people who subscribe to "Big Brother" conspiracy theories, and those involved in the protection of civil liberties have, so far at least, delayed an ID Card introduction. Additionally, there was a lot of media and public resistance when the new passports incorporated a microchip, but this seems to have been generally accepted now. The question is, does anyone here know (without simply speculating) what personal information is held on the chip of a Thai ID Card?
stolidfeline Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 My wife's cousin is a police sergeant of some sort. He says he and his mates have no idea, nor has he ever seen a card reader - he says as far as he knows, his station does not have one.
puyaidon Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I have heard that they can't get the software to work so they can read the chip.
