New Nokia

I have a new NOKIA 6670, which I believe is capable of GPRS and EDGE. Presently I have a pay as you go One to call SIM which does not appear to be able to configure to GPRS.

Do I have to buy a different SIM?

Can I still have a 'pay as you go' SIM ?

I have the leads which go into my USB and have installed the software that can use the NOKIA as a modem.

Any advice or pushes in the right direction appreciated.

Should work fine out of the box.

Make sure you have the correct operator settings, download them from the Nokia site.

I use a 6630 and it works very well.

BTW Make sure you set up Bluetooth I found the cable to be a lot slower.

You can use a One-2-call sim no problem. Give the AIS Call Centre a call and tell them you want GPRS service activated. They will send you a couple of configuration messages that will configure your phone when you save them.

Details of specific settings are available in other threads (you will probably need to set the modem initiatilization string on your laptop) but if you get stuck give me a yell.

Dont know about the 6670 but I bought a 6260 last week and a generic bluetooth kit and it works fine for me.

I do wish my laptop would learn how to spell properly.
