Flying MEL-BKK return April

What are the chances of extending my return ticket with MAS from 35 days to 90 days or 12 months after the first leg ?

Intend to visit MAS office in Bangkok, Happy to pay a bit extra.

By the way where is the office located?

Has someone done this before?

Thanks for any reply.

Well this depends completely on the type of ticket you buy, the cheapest you cannot usually change , the most expensive you can do anything with, get refunds, etc. with all options in between based basically on the 'class' of ticket you buy (not 1st , business, economy but usually designated with a letter).

So if you haven't already bought your ticket make your requirement plain on booking, if you have, changeability is usually written on the ticket.

Tickets have a lifespan i.e. 30 days, 60 days, 3months etc, you cannot change the return date of a ticket outside its lifespan, so even if a ticket is changeable , you will not be able to extend a 3 month ticket beyond 3 months though you could change your ticket from 90 days to 75 days.

A 12month ticket could cost twice as much as the cheapest non flexible fare.

Some people will say that in places like Thailand it is easy to break these rules , and I wouldn't be surprised but I had no luck when I tried to change my restricted Phuket air ticket from London, so don't bank on it.
