Usa&bahamas

Featured Replies

I will be going to NY in June. I've got a 10 years visa and have used it like 2-3 times. I went there with my family or friends but this time I will go alone. Does anyone have a problem with the officials once there? Will they want to see anything? I'll be attending a Sarcoma Foundation gala and staying there for a few nights at a friend's place before I head to the Bahamas.

As for Bahamas, I checked on one site and it says

Passport (must be valid for at least 6 months after entry) and

visa required.

However, visa not required, if:

- continuing to a third country within 3 days; and

- holding confirmed tickets; and

- holding sufficient funds; and

- holding all documents required for next destination.

Visitor must hold:

- return or onward ticket; and

- sufficient funds; and

- all documents required for next destination.

I don't think I'll stay there for more than 3 days so I assume I don't need a visa. Does anyone(Thai national) have any experience with this?

Thanks.

the little voice,

Providing your 10 year multi is valid and you are going to the US for genuine reasons then you shouldn't have any difficulties. After all, you wouldn't have been given such a visa in the first place if there were doubts about your intentions.

With regard to the Bahamas, if that's what the rules say then you should be OK but perhaps better if you check with their embassy first. If they are not represented in Bangkok then try the British embassy as they, generally, look after the interests of unrepresented Commonwealth countries.

Cheers,

Scouse.
