Scooter Wing Mirror Extenders ?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there's such a mod in existence ? I had the same problem on my BMW bike back home. I'm a reasonably large frame and no amount of adjustment gives me much of a rear view beyond a great view of my elbows and shoulders. (bike is a Yamy Nuovo)

yes it exists, go to any welder, metal shop and tell them. 300 baht.

Hi

Yes BillR is correct.

I have a Yamaha Nuovo too and am very obese and had the same problem when I bought it. No where in Khon Kaen sold long (extended) armed mirrors.

My solution was:

1) The supplied mirrors ahd VERY short arms and woudl not be long enough even if double length SO, I bought 2 pairs of the longest armed mirrors I could find in motor bike accessory shops (cheap)THEN

2) I took then to local Motorbike repair shop who had a welder.

The man cut the arms near the top of one pair of mirrors and then, cut the other pair near their base and welded them together.

Result was a neat clean looking nearly double arm length mirrors (he filed and painted the weld join). Whole Job was done in 30 mins whilst I waited

Very cheap 200 Baht (2 years ago).

The reason I bought two sets of mirrors instead of leaving the welder two fold.

1) the arms would match in width and colour and need only one weld per arm.

2) if a mirror got broken or clobbered (easily done) I had 2 matching spares to screw on (unlikely the actual arms would be damaged).

I would not drive a motorbike in KK without the ability to see round me :) as too dangerous. I like to know in advance if I am going to be overtaken on BOTH sides when turning right at crossroads :D I appreciate however that most Thais motorbike riders seem not to need/use mirrors (except to check hair or make up etc. :D ) as they just go/pull out without looking and leave it t other drivers to avoid hitting them :D .

Hope this helps.

May I suggest something like this.

Be safe people.

Edit: How do you attach a picture so it's open in the thread?
