I know it is stupid not to get insurance to travel to the UK, however is it part of the visa requirement ie could a Thai be refused entry without it?.

If this is the case then can a Thai travel with just health insurance.

May sound a silly question to those that have more knowledge in this area, but as you can see I have NONE.

I never take travel insurance when I go to the UK. I have been hospitalised on 2 different occasions and on others have had minor medical treatment there and did not have to pay anything. You just go to the emergancy room of any hospital for even minor treatment and say you are a tourist. They never asked my nationality.

It is not part of the visa requirements for the UK - but note it is for the EU.
