Best Place To Stop For Supplies From Airport To "coconut Island"

Featured Replies

I live in Chiang Mai but will be holidaying in Phuket at the end of this month. I need a recommendation as indicated in the title... we'll be arriving at the airport and heading to "Coconut Island" on the East coast... we're staying at one of the villas there so fancy doing most our own cooking... which for me = lots of BBQ's.

So we dont have to use the resort BBQ at 1,500bt a pop, we need to stop on the way at a supermarket - is there a Tesco, Carrefour or Big C which sells those smallish bbq grills (normally around 35cm long x 20cm wide x 20cm tall on a little stand) and good for about 6-7 uses before they start falling apart?

Cheers in advance.

bought one at homepro 750 baht I believe.

Unfortunately you will not pass any large stores on your way there.Best to ask the driver to stop in Thalang and have a look there

Instead of going left to the ferry keep going straight ahead about 5km on the right is Supercheap(the driver will know of it) a large bulk discount warehouse, you can buy everything there, the charcoal is next to the pharmacy section.

Supercheap definitely have them, they are in the section that sells pots, frying pans etc

Thanks for the advice all, much appreciated. Can already smell those burgers grilling!

Found the supercheap website too, and it looks like i'll be able to buy everything we need there. Excellent. Looks similar to Macro...

Cheers.

It's not similar to Macro.

Be prepared, its a bit of a dump - it does however stock almost everything and is cheap, be careful of rattlesnakes and falling ceilings.
