Here is link to a newspaper report from Hong Kong about buyers of Thai property being ripped off.

It seems that it is not only people in Thailand are being ripped off by Thailands developers.

Keywords: villas, one property development, 2003, 2005

Questions to the estate agent - Isn't foreign land ownership generally not permitted in Thailand? How will these villas be owned?

I'm surprised that they didn't raise their eyebrows at promises of a 12% net annual return, guaranteed for 8 years... i.e. almost guaranteeing their money back.

Seriously, this one should fall under the "if it sounds too good to be true"....category

Absolutely! A fool and his money are soon parted.

Unfortunately it still gets Thai property market a bad reputation.
