hello,

so this is a modem built into a cable that goes from your cellphone to your computer? does it also recharge the battery when plugged into the computer? what is the maximum download speed with this?

i don't think i've seen one of these,,,,,,,,,,john

Yeah the Cell phone that i bought are Sanyo 550 it includes,

1) 1x set up CD USB Driver

2) 2x Batteries

3) 1x USB Cable

4)Desktop Charger( This is very important so that yoou could charge your battery during the internet conection)

5) User Manuall in English

The maximum speed that i test using the mcafee spedometer at 730pm is 153kbps.... the average download time is about 120kbps...

So this is much more better compare to AIS GPRS only 40kbps max

I'm getting from around 80 up to 180 kbps with AIS GPRS on Koh Phangan

Initial outlay? 100 baht for the sim that comes with 35 hours connection time free

Renewed this month at 350 baht for 100 hours connection time

A good deal thats working fine :o

Both AIS and Dtac GPRS EDGE are faster than The standard CDMA package. Not by a lot but EDGE is faster. If you are comparing the Hutch to standard GPRS, then Hutch is indeed faster.

I cancelled my Hutch. :o

I never got anything faster than 10 kbps in Naklua.

They hassled me on my mobile for over 2 months at least 2 to 3 times a week and at any time of the day to reconnect.

Stuff em!!!!!!!!! :D

Can I get any of this with my 1-2Call sim card? Or do I need to get a special sim? I downloaded the Nokia software to use with my Happy/DTac sim card but then I realized that I could also use my regular 1-2Call sim. How do I know the rates though?

The USB card seems like a waste of money considering as others have said you can get a pretty good phone for that price that does the same thing. Depending on where you are Edge could be faster or a negligible difference.
