New Lotus In Nai Harn

Just confirmed a new Lotus is about to open in Nai Harn. They are almost complete with construction of the building and are planning on opening in 30 -45 days. I have been watching this building being built and finally succumbed to curiosity so I stopped by the construction site yesterday to ask what they were building. The location is approx 25 meters south of the 7-11 (which just unexpectedly closed) on Soi Yuan. If you drive past Don's heading toward Nai Harn go about 1km and you will see the white building (with no windows) on your right hand side, just before what use to be the 7-11.

Is the 7/11 closed permanently then? It looks to me like they are just making some changes.

@ the op: there is a sign on the building saying it will become a Lotus Express. A quick look would have settled your curiosity.

This was roughly 10-12 days ago that i stopped by the site, I was not aware of the sign at that time. Very well could have been there, my wife accuses my of "overlooking" things on a daily basis!

Not sure why anyone would get excited about a new Tesco. It will only sell the same old tat as anywhere else and will also contribute to the urbanisation (some would say total destruction) of a once pleasantly rural area.

agree; just what we need, 'same old tat' was a very polite expression to use. My Chalong hills hideaway is becoming more visible month by month, more coconut palms felled last week, 'holiday villas' taking their place about 100m away; for now i can enjoy evenings on the deck with just the sound of frogs and cicadas. A 'once pleasantly rural area', in a few years I imagine the tourist appeal of Big Buddha and associated developments will have changed this side of the hills dramatically. We haven't got a 7-11, yet.
