Hello again all, i recently posted asking for help on Visa info for my Wife to go to England. After reading various Websites i think she is going to apply for Settlement Visa, so now i need to get Paperwork & things sorted. Most of which i can do from here, as well as my father sending Home Ownership & a letter that we can stay in his home as he is living overseas.

My question now is do we need to include a Medical Report when the Visa Application is submitted or later, it does not say on the forms but does mention that those applying for a stay of over 6 months req a Medical Check up?? also at what Hospital is it best to go to.

can anyone shed light on this?

thanks again for help so far,

MM

Hi MisterMister,

No medical is required in order to get the visa. When your wife arrives in the UK she is supposed to have a quick check-up at the airport but that depends whether the immigration officer can be bothered referring her to the airport doctor. Once in the UK she will be able to register with a GP and receive NHS treatment.

Cheers,

Regarding registering with a GP, my gf is here on settlement visa, we are getting married in July 2005. Question is can she register now with my GP or after we are married ?

Thank you

P.S. are you sunning yourself in the Carribean after your lottery win yesterday :o

Hi Clive,

She can register now.

Needless to say the twinge in my bones turned out to be a touch of rheumatism rather than heralding a lottery win. So, I'm still here in sunny Liverpool. :o

Clive,

Was your fiancée referred to the doctor at the airport? If so then he/she is meant to write to your local Family Practitioner Committee (not called that now but don't know its new name) who in turn should write to your fiancée inviting her to register with a GP.

Anyway, it doesn't matter as she's entitled to register anyhow.

sorry for delay in responding, yes she had a TB X-Ray in Heathrow. I called my GP yesterday and we are going to enrol with them shortly.

Should my gf be receiving a letter from the FPC, should we just carry on and enrol with GP ?

Thank you

Just carry on. The absence of the letter doesn't prevent her from registering. I was just curious to know how quickly (or otherwise) the FPC is notifying people of their right to register.

Cheers,

Scouse.
