April 10, 200520 yr Funny as every new guy I meet these days, I ask them if they use Thai Visa. People I see in the local supermarket too, I wonder. I try to put a username to people I know a little through work. I usually keep my user name to myself, so you never know, maybe you know me! Stupid really as most of them have never heard of Thai visa, or at least don't use it. I wonder how many expat use this forum in %.

These are three people that I know of that live near to me, have I seen them before? I bet i have as our town is not that big. One thing i am happy about is that the management do not visit TV, they will realise how much time I spend here But, I am working here (eastern bloc country) with atleast 20 other folks that have Thai wives and/or live in Thailand. Not a bad ratio whe nthere is only about 100 of us here.
April 10, 200520 yr I think being in the position I am,I have met quite a few more Thai Visa members than a lot of you. Five mods have put in an appearance,as well as a couple from the other mob.All in all about 20 people have introduced them selves as TV members,so I would imagine there are also quite a few that haven't. I must say it's great putting names to facesor avtars.
April 10, 200520 yr I've met a few members and ex members. I work with 2 people who are on here. Been on the piss with a few. Got a pissup in ChiangMai on Thursday. So will be putting some more faces to names.

April 10, 200520 yr Although Wolfie lives just down the road from me, I never actually met him or recall seeing him anywhere until we met at a TV get-together . And I rarely see him now - maybe twice in the last year I've beeped him as I pass him in the soi. But I often see expats - or people who I believe are expats - and wonder if they are someone I know from here. At a bar, I did ask one old Aussie guy called Ken, but he was so pissed I couldn't make out if he was kidding that he didn't know what I was talking about. And one guy I met at the same bar guessed who I was when we got started talking about TV. Just to make it fair, he told me who he was too, but he's not a big contributor.
April 10, 200520 yr I saw a huge guy at Tesco. 9 feet tall Pretty sure it was George. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nah. He's only 5' 3". He's as tall as FTH is wide

April 12, 200520 yr I saw a bloke at the World Carnival who looked like how I imagine the Doc to look like. He had a Thai wife or girlfriend with him and was at a food stall, I wanted to tap him on the shoulder and say "Are you Dr Pat Pong?" but thought better of it.

May 12, 200520 yr I have yet to see anyone with a TV T-Shirt on (with or without moniker) - except those that I gave one to that is. For the last 3 years I've been in the UK for the Thai Festival in Battersea Park - I look around each time at all the Farang with their Thai ladies and wonder if any of them are TV users (or are from that other Thai forum that Brits hang out at). If anyone's going this year, how about wearing something so we can recognise each other? As to how many expats use the site, how about a poll: Option 1: I use/have used this site; Option 2: I have never visited or used this site, nor am I aware of its existance.

May 12, 200520 yr Will do Scamp. My wife was going to be playing the Kim there this year (she did last year too) as part of the Thai Classical Music bit, but I am not sure now as she dropped out the group - she has to work on a Saturday now, so can't keep it up. Real shame.

May 13, 200520 yr There's always lots of friends and friend of friends (et infinitum), I'll absorb you in. It usually goes in the standard Thai party guise - women sitting on the grass yapping, men in the beer tent! You might even get lucky!
May 13, 200520 yr I have yet to see anyone with a TV T-Shirt on... Now there's an idea! George.... roll out the marketing department gurus... there's gotta be a buck or two in that one... and you've already got the bulk mailing list at your fingertips! A nice classy number... maybe a polo type T-shirt with a collar.. pale blue perhaps to go with the TV logo... and maybe a pink one for the gals and gays...
