I want to make a sign to hang in front of the house like the "Welcome" sign, but I want a custom one with my own words and written in nice cursive handwriting. Something like a sign carved in wood will be nice.

Do you know where can I get that made?

Baan Tawai would be the place to go.

If you want it to be in English make sure that they understand any <deleted> ups in the spelling will be on them, i.e. that they will have to do it again at their cost.

There are a good many artisan's out there (Baan Tawai) who have the ability to do a good job and the price should not be out of the way either.

We got three wood signs made up by a guy who attends the sunday walking street. His stall is exactly at the other end from Thapae Gate (I can't remember the name of the street). After negotiation the price was 350Baht each for signs with house names both in English/Thai. We gave him a printout with the words we wanted to avoid any mistakes. We are happy with the signs.

There is a guy in the Night Bazaar making wooden signs. He is on Loi Kroh Rd at the McDonalds/Burger King intersectiion, on the side of Burger King.
