Hi Guys,

My three Sons, ages ranging from 22-27 are intending to spend the Songkran weekend in Pattya

As a father are there any pitfalls or does and donts, things/ certain places to be avoided? They are all very familiar with Thailand and have been coming here longer than I have been living here (2 years). But this will be their first time n Pattaya

This is just a post for any advice I could pass on

Many thanks

At their age they/ll have a good time. Only advice would be wrap their wallets in a plastic bag and leave the mobile in the room.

Tell them not to wear anything good.........the couple of times ive done Songkran in the past i've bought one of thoses cheap "hawaiian " shirts to wear.

Also if they have motorbikes here tell them to stay off them.

If they want to see Songkran at its wettest/worst? tell them to go down Soi 7 or 8. :o

Of course it won’t be “Hoe Safe”, the Hoe’s will be here, same as any other time of the year!.

Come on, they are 22 to 27 years old; get on with your own life. :o

Tell them not to react angrily to a soaking no matter how pissed up or off they may be.

Most of the trouble in Pattaya during Songkhran is through gangs of 'Fat White Plonkers' who just see it as a giant water fight and piss up and things gang aft agley to quote the Poet.

During my last time in Pattaya during Songkhran I got myself a good vantage point on Soi 7 and saw no fewer than 2 actual dust ups and countless square ups in a few hours from these buffoons who seem happy to dish it out, less pleased to get it back.

But remember that the big day in Pattaya will be 19th April - not same, same rest of Thailand. But there'sa good chance of getting soaked before that - walk in any bar and they'll soak them

Thanks to the Positive posters for your responses.

naka, 2 things, firstly what are you going on about "Hoe safe"? Not with you.

secondly you obviously don't have Children otherwise you would not have made such a flippant remark. Any parent who cares about their kids will worry about them from the cradle to the grave, and if by some chance you do then I am even more surprised by your response.

Mods I suggest closing this thread now as I have all the info I need now thanks.

Agree it was flippant, one too many chang's, just could'nt resist.

Initial post header was indeed "Hoe Safe" , guess someone edited it later.

But there again, do you really think of 22 ~ 27 year old guy's as "children" ?
