Mothers Coming To Town

Featured Replies

Reaching out to you for any inspirational ideas for my Mothers visit on the 1st of December?

This time of year in Chiang Mai is fantastic weather wise, the air is fresh and flowers are in bloom, so maybe a trip to a botanical garden - if there's one near by. She is approaching sixty soon so no need for 'flight of the gibbon' or bungee jumping from the canopies suggestions.

Simple, relaxing and appreciative ideas for her four day visit would be most welcome from anybody who has had similar experience in taking care of their parents and ensuing they had a fantastic time.

Thank you for your suggestions

:)

A lot depends on your mother's interests and her physical shape. Some gals in their 60s can walk and hike in the hills all day long. Others have a struggle getting from the rest home to the taxi. The botanical garden is a good idea and so is the zoo. But, the zoo is a good walk if you don't take the cart. I alway suggest an trip up Doi Suthep and a hike around the little stream that flows down off the same hill. There are pretty good trails along the creek suitable for everyone. A visit to the China town shopping area is a good idea and it's always a busy place. A trip up the river is a pleasant time as well... with good dining along the way.
