Need Advice On U.s. Student Visa For Thai Girl

Featured Replies

I'm an American male, looking to help a Thai girl get a student visa to study in the U.S. She wants to get an MBA. She just graduated last month from a university in Thailand with a Bachelor's degree in Business English. She doesn't have any significant funds in the bank and currently has no job as she just graduated. She is looking to start school in the Fall of 2006 in the US. I will pay for her expenses. My question is, has anyone tried to get a student visa for a Thai, and how easy/difficult is it? Any advice to avoid potential pitfalls? I'm assuming that she will have to show that she has funds to pay for her education. I can transfer funds to her account to show this. Is this OK? How much will they be looking for? Provided she has an acceptance letter from a university, and enough funds to pay for her education, what other requirements are there and what are the chances at success? I've known of a few Thai students in the U.S. who had part-time jobs while going to school. Is this legal while studying on a student visa? I should add that I'm currently not living in the U.S., but plan to return there in July, 2006 and my friend will be living with me while getting her MBA.

Thanks in advance for all your replies.
