Dandy Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 How did Songkan festival go this year..normaly I'm there but this year I had to work...so did the death toll go down this year or up? Anything you guys witnessed of interest that could tell me about the festival would be great.
davethailand Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I had a great songkran. Got up at 4pm, checked email, lied to everyone by saying "i'm coming now" that called me saying "come to walking st". went out in the truck to attempt friendship (closed) looked at all the idiots monkeying around (why do people stand in the middle of the road dancing when there's a 2 ton truck going for them?) , Got completley pissed off with all of it and went home. Peaceful and happy now.
thaiflyer1 Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 You managed one better than me Dave..............havn't stuck my head out the house all day. Tried Carrefour last night and got stuck in traffic on Soi Nern Plub Wahn (on bike) needless to say got soaked, that was enough for me.
thai_norman Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I havent ventured out of my door today shame the rain started so late, it would have been great if it started at lunchtime and lasted all day

What about the road accidents this year any better than last year?
hm1973 Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I got stuck in traffic, unfortunately I had to work today. It took me 2 hours to do a 10 minute journey from my home to my office. Oh well, its over now.

But then again so were the number of people celebrating.
Humphrey Bear Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Spent the morning with the apology for a handyman that Khun Porn sent round to fix the water (that's Friday / came to repair his work Saturday / came to repair his re-work Sunday / came to repair that yesterday / had to come over this morning as there was no water at all!!). My wife and daughter went out about ten in the morning - called in about mid-afternoon - came back home at about seven. But the big guy upstairs must have enjoyed watching the fun and wanted to join in - thunder, lightning and a real downpour about five o'clock showed that someone can do it better!
