Having heard do many 'sick buffalo' stories in my time here in LOS I had a girlfriend who owned 12 kwai and told me the price of a new one.

So does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to buy a new one and whether it would be cheaper than the medicine for the 'sick' one???

I know the answer, but I'd be interested in seeing who has paid hospital bills for a pedigree kwai???

Thaivisa just goes from strength to strength with quality topics.......

Did you see the one about someone wanting to buy an elephant?

These don't get sick.

Good for family outings too.

Well done, you have just proved it. :)

A 'buffalo' is kwaai. Kwai has a different meaning. :D

Beware of the pronunciation (the length of the vowel).

Thanks for your insight :)

Between 2000 and 4000 Baht.

Exclusive insurance and airbags

:)

If you know where I can buy Buffaloes for that price I will take the lot cause they are worth a lot more than that.

Have no clue about which area you are talking about :)

I only know Southern champions with pedigree... and they are going for a couple of hundred thousands.

I'll give you a good deal on the one outside my apartment, but you've got to pick him up at night.

And I'll throw in a couple of soi dogs for free...

I was told they go for around 7000 bht in Chiang Mai (SanPatong market)

If that is the case then, the vets bills for the numerous "sick buffalo" can be easily avoided by just buying a direct replacement. :)

Cannot replace the buffalo.

Probably a pedigree.

There's a special breeding program that makes sicker and sicker buffaloes for every generation.

since this is the festive season, Im still in festive mood

My point exactly.

In Surin 7 years ago a new buffalo was 5,000 Baht, 7,000 would sound about right now.

The only reason I know this is we bought a puppy for that, and the neighbours were horrified enough at the price to say 'you could get a buffalo at SanPatong market for that'

A timely topic. Just today we received 6 buffalo, one of which is pregnat. I was given 3,000 baht to take them but the guy who gave them to me paid 40,00. Wonderful companions, buffaloes .

But the buffalo doesn't taste as nice although it'll feed the whole village.
