Just had a quote for house (villa) insurance.

Insured for 5 million Baht.

9,000 baht per year.

This is for full insurance, ie fire, theft, flood, etc.

It does not cover jewelry or gold.

Does anybody know if this is a fair quote for Phuket?

Sounds fair enough. For an old place of ours, 3 beds, val about 4 mill, we paid 7000 baht.

Without knowing the exact coverage it is impossible to say how good the quote is.

Extensive coverage, big premium, limited coverage, small premium.

I just make an online application at TV and also asked the insurance lady for details of coverage in English.

There was a thread a while ago about this and from what I recall most pay 1Kper year per million baht of coverage, so you should be in the 5-6K range.

Thanks. I remember that thread and the 1,000 baht per million insured rule of thumb but I thought, for some reason, that was Pattaya prices.
