We check out Pattaya’s Annual Crocodile Egg eating competition.

02-05_3_2.jpg

We took our cameras to the Pattaya Crocodile farm for an annual stomach turning event involving the consumption of crocodile eggs. The competition works as follows. Each competitor is given 10 crocodile eggs which are three times the size of a normal chicken egg. The objective is to eat the eggs within a 10 minutes period. The winner is crowned when either the eggs are eaten or depending on who has eaten the most eggs within the 10 minutes time frame. The event has become an extremely popular and serious event as the winner receives a cool 10,000 Baht. This year’s winner was Khun Nopanan who ate 10 eggs in a staggering three and a half minutes. The winning cheque was presented by Khun Sansak, former adviser to the Sports and Tourism Minister and Khun Chanyut, Member of Parliament for Chonburi Province.

Don't know much about Croc's eggs. Is it like a chicken's egg in format, that is, a new one is yolk and albumen (eatable) but one near to hatching is a living creature (eatable in China, Philippines as far as I know).

If the latter is served, could be a little bit interesting as to who bites who first.

I think I could do it if they were not boiled like the bulge in the guys mounth in the picture is suggesting.

But then again, 10 eggs 3x the size of a chicken egg... wow 30 chicken eggs. I think I need to start practiceing for next years event. Heheh
