Bangkok To Laem Chabang

Featured Replies

It is possible I may be travelling regularly between Laem Chabang [industrial Estate] and Bangkok.

There is a regular air-con bus which chugs its way slowly through Chonburi and Sri Racha no doubt. Does anyone know the time of the last trip leaving Laem Chabang coming back to Bangkok?

Is there a van doing this trip? From Seacon, Happyland, Central Bang Na or Victory Monument perhaps?

I have a motorbike (Honda Sonic) but I don't want to do this long return trip on a regular basis on a motorbike.

there is a -normal AC-bus route-BKK/Ekamai-LmChbg. does not run too often. I dont know how far these buses might go in that estate, but I guess not at all. the main highway=Sukhumvit-thats it.

Also ALL Pattaya and Sattaheep-MapTaPhut-Rayong buses have by default to use that same road. they will let you off (but not at a lower fare of oits blue-1st cl.) if so asked.

FROM there into BKK probably the last 2nd cl. bus from PTY, as 1st cl. buses wont stop. that would be FROM PTY around 20.00-passing LmChbg some 30 mins later. But -if you workt here-hey presto-just think-dont ask here-ask locals-or the lady selling drinks at the busstop-are not they the very best informers?

VANS to PTY lve from the Victory Monument here in BKK-not too often.

That's really weird. A post of mine disappeared.

Anyway the gist of it was I know there are regular Laem Chabang to Ekamai air-con buses. I want to know when the last one leaves Laem Chabang.

I know there are 3 or more buses an hour from Pattaya bus station to Ekamai or Mor Chit. These are no good for me on the inbound journey because 1) they don't pick up en route in Laem Chabang & 2) going 20 kms in the wrong direction to get to Pattaya Bus Station to get to Bangkok would be unnecessarily time-consuming.

I would like to know if there are any vans going from Laem Chabang to BKK on a regular basis.

Buying a car is not an option as it's only for 2 months, maybe 3 or 4 days a week. It would be easier to take a taxi or rent for a month if that were the option but still too expensive.

I found out myself there are vans from Happyland (Bangkapi) to Pattaya that will drop me off and pick me up on Sukhumvit at Laem Chabang. I'll have to make my own way in to the industrial estate. Cost of the van is 150 Baht.

You have found an alternative-but I would just-as I had written before-like to adjust a apparent mis-idea of yours.

There are BOTH blue 1st and white/orange (with AC) 2nd cl. buses runing both 2-3 times/hour PTY-BKK. The 2nd cl. buses start from Jomtien beach.

THESE buses DO also stop at LCbg-both ways. they replace the former 3d cl. non-AC buses. You seem to confuse them with the blue 1st .cl buses. Also these 2nd cl buss are not the snail-slow as you seem to think-they cover the run to bangNa and on within 2 hrs-surely at that time of night. If Bangkapi is your destination-get off at bang {Hlee or the main crossing with Sri Nakarin and change the bus/or taximeter for a quicker trip.

In fact-but ask a Thai to help you-the blue 1st cl-if any seats left-will also be happy to pick you up-they often signal that with lights in the eve. But there is of course no garantee at all that do have seats.

There used to be a ticket office at Laemchabang for the aircon blue bus that would be able to tell you if there were seats available, and book the seat for you.

It was just past the lights opposite Laemchabang Tower, but that was 15 years ago when I used to get the bus from there to Bangkok. There also used to be a bus terminal at Laemthong Laemchabang (now Marina Mall I think?)

I had kind of ruled out the 2nd class air con as they are heinously slow stopping every dam_n place (You can see I've had some poor experiences on these type of buses) but if you don't try, you'll never know.

FYI The junction of Sri Nakharin and Bang Na-Trat is called Wat Sri Eeam by the Bus Dudes. As in Q:"Long nai kha?" A: "Wat Sri Eeam khrap."

I promise to report back with my findings. You might need to wait a month as the job hasn't started yet.

Thanks for the info.
