Another Snake

Featured Replies

Hi All,

This snake visited us a couple of nights ago and the dogs were really into it. He's got like a "lone-ranger" black band across the eyes and nose, and an inverted "V" thingy. Poisonous?

Looks like a banded Kukri.   Not venomous, but can give a nasty bite.

My wife say's yes it has poison, but not as bad as Cobra.

A brown or banded KUKRI snake is correct....go here for more info......http://www.siam-info.de/english/snakes_oligodon.html

You might consider bookmarking this site if you live in Thailand......it will come in handy again...

Not as bad as cobra...that's comforting! (not) Just kidding. We thought so too from all the websites, but he's got no orange...anyway, when they do their snake (or frog) bark, we just bring them in but we're always curious! Thanks.

Snakes made a nice soup. The Chinese use lots of herbs in a earthern ware and let is simmer for 6 hours. The meat is tender white like fish. Try it.
