Luxury Vinyl Flooring, Available In Thailand?

Recommended Posts

I am curious about luxury vinyl flooring for the living room and kitchen of my condo. I haven't really noticed it in Thailand but on the other hand haven't really looked for it. Is it available here? If so, what lines and what retail outlets?

No idea but every year for the past 6 years buy a roll of vinyl for my Table, cut in 1/2 so have 2 table vinyl covers, it is about 4m x 2m and until a few weeks ago when I bought another roll from Carrefour, I notice it said Vinyl Floor Covering

No way would I use this as Vinyl Floor Covering, but maybe Thais do ?

These are vinyl tiles I am talking about some with 20 year warranties. They have really made advances, it makes great flooring with a huge variety of designs. I think it would work great in Thailand but like I said not sure you can get it here. (No caulk areas either!) I think they are installed like Pergo/laminates but probably glued down, but not sure.

You should check out the Boonthavorn store in P'ya, though I believe that "luxury" and "vinyl" are mutually exclusive terms.

Good idea, but nope, these are sophisticated products with luxurious foot feel. The planks format sounds most interesting to me.

The Cheap Peel & StickVinyl tile versions usually found in Home centers are not the same as Luxury Vinyl Tile and not very thick, durable or scratch resistant.

Not vinyl tiles but I did see in Homemart Pattaya last week really nice laminated wooden flooring for 500 baht for two square meter packs. Very good quality stuff, made in Malaysia. So much so I nearly bought 20 square meters on the price and quality alone but really don't have anywhere to put it. :)

http://www.becklerscarpet.com/vinyltile/di...&manu_id=54 seems to be a type of laminate flooring plank. These are available from Mr. Floor on Third Road, just opposite the TOT Building.

http://www.hoskinghardwood.com/Vinyl_Tile_...inyl_Tiles.aspx has both planks and tiles which should be available from the same place.

And they are likely what Rimmer reports finding in Homemart.

Although they are called vinyl tiles they are not what are generally referred to as vinyl tiles (think linoleum in squares) which is probably why you've had some odd answers.

Laminate and luxury vinyl and not the same thing.

Laminate doesn't just mean wood but it's just possible that the companies that stock wooden laminates might stock vinyl ones too.

I am quite aware of that. I have done laminate floors before. Lots of variety. My impression is that the luxury vinyl products are a more recent trend. They really aren't the same product. I will check out some of the info here and follow up on it later; haven't done that yet.

I have used Vinyl in my kitchen in Ireland .It comes in a roll ( can be 5 meters or more long ) .The latest stuff is very thick and hard wearing .You still have to have a very smooth surface or a little pebble for example can make its way through .You do not need to stick it down if you have one piece for your room .

Have not seen it it Thailand .To do my Kitchen about 6 meters by 5 cost around 120 Euro (laying it myself) .In Thailand you could lay tiles in the same size area for a cheaper price .
