On Demand Water Heater

Featured Replies

I need an on demand water heater large enough to fill a bath with 'HOT' water in a reasonable amount of time. Also to be used for a shower with good water flow.

Where in Issan such an animal available?

I can travel to other areas but I am lazy. :)

So, in the 200,000 square kilometers with a population of 20 million people that comprise the region of Isaan, could you be just a bit more vague on your specific location? :)

If you insist. Nong Bua.

That near Udon Thani? If so, I'd say your best bet is a "Home Mart" type store in Udon. Gonna have to travel.

Be aware that these on-demand heaters draw a LOT of electrical power, check your available supply before buying anything over 3.5kW (which won't give you a hot bath in your lifetime, ok for a shower though).

A 5-15 meter will max out on a 3.5kW heater

A 15-45 meter will max out on a 10kW heater

If you're on a small supply and want a bath full you'd be better off getting a tank heater, these heat a lot of water more slowly but place a lot less strain on the electrical supply infrastructure.

Or, why not try solar, lots of sites show you how to build a simple, cheap, solar water heater, you can use it to pre-heat the water and top it off with a small on-demand unit.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I am about 100K to the west of Udon near the Loei line.

By travel, I meant like Bangkok.

Thanks, though.

I've had good luck with a Mazuma 10KW gas water heater. Lots of hot water and no extra extra electric load but you do have to vent those. They're available at Global and Homepro in Udon.

Gas. A good idea. I had thought of that before but didn't remember seeing them anywhere.

Thanks. :)
