yes how can you really know ? dont jump before you do know after all who in their right minds would try this on in thailand, for what a few baht, lets face it how much would they even make in los doing this, surely there are more simple scams with bigger profits than this, i would say they were genuine

em. asking for money and saying u r a charity.how much more simple do u need. unless u think maybe hacking into bank account or setting up fake websites is more easier

This is a forum, many people in the past , have been warned about certain activities & scams, that turned out to be very accurate.

I do not understand your statement. Is physical violence in your books the only way to settle an argument?

There is police , lawyers & a court system that can handle disputes in an adequate manner.

May I also point out, not in a sarcastic manner, but as a point of fact , that thuggery or threats are not allowed on this forum.

One of the benefits of an open/anonymous forum is that people can offer their opinions and views without fear of getting punched in the face for it. Smacking someone in the face for offering an opinion, sarcastic or not, isnt really acceptable behavior.

I think Big C's sarcasm was simply used to highlight a pretty obvious point in that, if this is a scam, walking up to people with a tin and asking for money for an allegedly bogus cause is a pretty simple straightforward meathod to use.

If these people really are making money out of collecting for a bogus charity I hope they're caught quickly punished accordingly.

I've saw them along the main one way stretch on Chaweng beach road. They just seem to walk along one side then cross over and come back on the other...but mind you, as Crusty says he's saw them on the beach too so i guess they'll go anwhere to hope to find gullible tourists to prey on...and i bet there's plenty of them

Funny enough i saw them yesterday from a distance walking along the road and i really wanted to go and tell them they have their very own thread on here but i was on the phone. there is an airtical in the local samui paper about people soliciting for money for Bangkok samui hospital. they said that they do accociate themselves with these beggers. Only problem is think they were pretending to collct for Samui Hospial in Nathong. the gov hospital. I mean people would have to be even more stupid to give money to the richest private hospital in thailand
