Hi all,

I'm in Thailand at this very moment, and just got work. My company will provide me with all the papers needed for the right visa, and the work permit. I'm here now on a tourist visa, which will expire in one month.

Can you tell me, where should / can I go to get my Non-B? Obviously I need to go to the other country near by.. (?) Which is the best place to go, from Bangkok that is. I'm a little confused of all this, because last times I got the visa at my home country (in Europe), but now I have to apply for it some where else.. THX. :)

Take a cheap airasia flight to KL or Penang.

You need to bring correct paperwork, including WP3 (prof you have applied for WP)

You will get a single entry Non-B on that.

If you want a multiple entry 1- year non-B you must have the WP with you.

KL will issue if you have at least 8 months validity left on your WP.

You can also apply for extension of stay 1 year at immigrations with WP and if your company full fills the requirements.

Here's a check list for the paperwork to get the Non-B.

Yes, single entry Non-B visa only first time round if applying in the region.

Really only Single entry? when did they start this? I applied for and received my very 1st non-im "B" in Penang mulit entry no issues, however this was about 7yrs ago. I heard they are getting more strict, but not letting you get a mutil entry makes no sense, then again we are talking about Thailand.

7 years ago is not now. Have a read of the member reports. Only KL and Penang will issue multiple entry Non-B visa as long as WP has at least 8 months remaining and, in the case of Penang, company registered share capital must be at least 8 million baht. First time applicants usually only have Form WP3 receipt indicating WP applied for, so multiple entry visa cannot be issued. The reason why most consulates will not issue multiple entry Non-B visas is because they expect you to apply for extension of stay based on employment at Thai immigration at renewal time.

Some embassies and consulate tend to have their own form.Look on their website (if they have one) Otherwise just fill it out there. It is very easy to fill in. There is no special form fro a non-B, you just fill in a regular visa application form and ask for a non-immigrant visa for reason of employment.
