Hello everyone I would like some advice please. I am very happily married to a Thai lady and I had to go back to Australia for 3 months I am returning next week.We were going out of the country every month, I have a Thai bank account with enough money in it for any type of visa requirements.I have not used this account in 4 months. We are going to start a family so I want to stay with my wife and not have to go out all the time.I retired early in Australia , so do I get a retirement visa or immigrant visa.

I love Thailand and want to live there for the rest of my life with my wife and family we start.

We will be living near Korat so do I go to Immigration office near there or Bangkok.

Thank you in advance for any replies. :)

Return with a Non Imm O Visa. This will give 90 days .

Within the last 30 days go to Korat Immigration and apply for a 12 month extension based on having a Thai Wife. 1,900 Baht fee.

If you intend on leaving Thailand every now and again apply for a Multi Re Entry Permit as well 3,800 Baht.

From the Police Order.

2.18 In the case of a family

member of a Thai(applicable only to parents, spouse, child, adopted child or child

of his/her spouse):

Permission will be

granted for a period of

not more than 1 year at a time.

(1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM)

(2) Proof of family relationship

(3) In the case of a spouse, the marital relationship shall be de

jure (legitimate) and de facto;

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

If you are over age 50 you also have the retirement extension option which is less paperwork if you already meet the financial requirements.
