Colour Perception As We Get Older

Featured Replies

I am half way through having the lenses in my eyes replaced as treatment for cataracts.

One eye done, the other next Friday

Closing one eye and looking at the colours it is amazing how yellow the "old world" looks

Whites almost have a blue tinge from the new eye and colours have much more punch to them. :D

Once it is all finished I will have to take a new look at the calibration for my monitor.

An added bonus will be that I should be able to see again without the need for spectacles.

That will be after 10 years of reading glasses, followed by 10 years of varifocals :)

I remember reading about an old painter who had catarachs removed and then destroyed his later paintings because all the colours were wrong.

Can't remember his name and can't be bothered doing a google search.
