Pattaya Red Shirts Rally In Jomtien Prior To Thaksin’s Supreme Court Decision

Featured Replies

On Thursday Night at their regular venue at the corner of Soi Kow Tha Low where it intersects with the Sukumvit Road, the Pattaya Branch of the anti-government and pro-Thaksin Red Shirts held a rally, just hours before a Supreme Court Decision relating to the former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and over 76 Billion Baht’s worth of his assets. Guest Speaker at the event was Khun Jatuporn, a core leader of the red shirts. He was joined on stage by local leaders and supporters including local Cable TV owner and former Member of Parliament, Khun Chanyut. It is thought that around 5,000 people attended the event. Police provided security for the event due to fears of attacks by government sympathizers but there were no reports of any problems. Red Shirts and other Pro-Thaksin supporters around Thailand were studying the verdict given over by Judges assigned to the case on Friday and everyone is holding their breath to see if the verdict results in a violent response by Pro-Thaksin supporters.

Interesting he's involved. That means we know which side the Mayor is on, and his father, more importantly.
