Pattaya Tourist Police Round-up Illegal Street Beggars

Featured Replies

On Tuesday Night, and following on from their operation the night before, Police Major Arun, the Inspector-in-charge of the Pattaya Tourist Police Station led a team of Tourist Police Officers on a further clean-up operation on Pattaya Beach Road and Pattaya Second Road. This time, the officers were on the hunt for illegal street beggars, many of which are known to be illegal immigrants. The operation led to the arrest of 17 people, which included 8 children. The majority of the arrestees were Cambodian Nationals who are thought to have illegally crossed the border at Aranya-pratet in Satgeow Province, which is known as an easy border to cross for illegal aliens. The Cambodians are expected to be deported but will likely return to Thailand the next day, the rest paid a small fine and were later released.

Just wonder if tonight it will be the turn of the Indian Tailors who harass tourists? :)

Why do they never get that fat woman that runs all the kid beggars on Walking Street, she has done it for years.

I quite agree. They are a real nuisance. :)

Maybe some should write into Pattaya one or PDN with whinges about the tailors? I far prefer the tap on shoulder brigade to these annoying gits.
