Pattaya United unveil players and plans for the 2010 Soccer Season

PATTAYA:-- On Thursday Afternoon at Pattaya City Hall, Khun Sontaya, former Sports and Tourism Minister along with Khun Itipon, the Mayor of Pattaya chaired a press conference to announce the new look Pattaya United for the 2010 Soccer Season. The team, otherwise known as the Blue Dolphins, were presented, one-by-one to the gathered media and the Mayor announced that 10 Million Baht has been allocated to upgrading the Nongprue Sports Ground, where Pattaya United will be playing their home matches. Next season the team will move to a new 700 Million Baht 20,000 capacity stadium. For this season, the team is proud to announce the capture of a 20 year old striker from Cameroon Mr. Kengne Takam Ludovick who is expected to add significant strength to the team who will be competing in the Thailand Premier League under the direction of Head Coach Khun Tawatchai. Wow isn't that amazing, 10m Baht support from the Pattaya taxpayers, and I HOPE the 700m Baht cost of the stadium was raised privately but I doubt it, so all in all not a bad day for the Dolphins. And who owns the team and will reap the main benefit of having this wonderful statium effectively for free, and without debt or finance?

Ah, the Mayor's brother and cronies.
