Hi , can anyone advise the best way and most cost effective way to get to Uttradit from Phuket ?? not sure if Phuket/ Chiang Mai / Uttradit is the way to go ...any advice greatly appreciated

Cheers CdM

I passed through there last year on a 4 week road trip with my family in our truck.

I am going to guess that the cheapest way to get there would be to ride a motorbike for about a week.

Or, more realistically, to go to Sarathani and take the train to Chiang Mai (thru BKK of course)

I don't know if you can get off the train on the way up somewhere closer to Uttradit or not. (Sukothai or thereabouts?)

If not, take a bus from Chiang Mai.

Other options (quicker) of course would be to fly to Chiang Mai and take a bus from there.

We liked the area around there.

It is the real Thailand, with friendly, hard working people.

Most cost effective way is

Bus to Bkk then a bus to Uttradit.

It's about a 20 hour journey though
