I pay2500 baht rent 2 bedroom 2 bath townhouse with parking, outside kitchen. My electric and water have been free for the last 12 months. It was feshly painted when I moved in with contempory colours has marble floors downstairs and hardwood upstairs. The only furniture is a bed , dinig table and thaistyle livingroom wood sofa. I pay the most in the area for same accomodation because as a farang when I first arrived didnot know the local market well.

But 2500 baht is still cheap yes I think many will be paying 15000 up.

Forgot to mention has aircon too.

A friend is renting a one bedroom furnished unit (separate lounge and small kitchen) for B7,000 per month in Patong. (He also rents 3 other units and then sub-lets them to tourists on a short-term basis for B1,000 per night.) Although they are newish (only about 18 months old), these units are quite compact - I'm a believer that size matters. :)

There are plenty of places available (with or without aircon) around for the B3-5k mark, but they are well past their prime (the sorts of places that BGs stay and share between half a dozen of them). You get the occasional expat eeking out an existence in these places as well - the ones you'll often see drinking Leo outside the local mum and pop store.

If you get all that for only 14,000 baht/month then it's no surprise that it's taken already ... :)

Rawai Sea View Private Soi

2 bedroomed house, air con, 600 sq mtr garden also a large communal garden with rubber trees, banana trees pomegranate trees, mango trees ect .

The house is built up on concrete pillars so there is room for the truck and bike table chairs and plenty of room for the GF and her mates to sit around eating most of the day.

It has exactly the same views as the 5 star resort next door and they are paying 30,000 per night and I get all this for 11,000 per month

rent a condo, house etc. is in Thailand a lotterie. In Europe we calculate after value of house, facilities, where located etc. etc. this give us a price per square meter!

Here I guess a rent is calculated by "feelings and dreams" of the owner; I pay 3 bed, 1 large living room, 2 bath/toilette, big kittchen etc. and small garden 7500 for non furnished house 700 meter fm the beach in Hua Hin. My neighbour with one room less but very same house pay 12'500 !!! Most thai in same village paye same me, Farangs near 50% more.

Some Thai don't calculate if his house stay empty because of to high price he loose each month, my neighbour house stay empty 1 year so he loose min. 90'000 / year because he want 140'000 /year .... by his dream to become rich he get more and more poor :)
