I turned up at Loch Palm this morning to find the main entrance blocked by the caddies. A security guard directed me to the other entrance.

I gather the strike was over pay and they do get paid a pittance and rely on tips. I would guess that many players didn't play because they didn't want to do so without a caddy but it's possible some felt sympathy with the caddies and decided to boycott the course today. Sorry, I decided to play.

No caddies on the course but a cart shared by two was cheaper than the tip I usually give. The course was almost empty meaning 18 holes took 3 hours and 40 minutes. It was probably the most pleasant round of golf I have had in ages (not a regular player, by the way).

The management at Loch Palm rule the caddies with an iron fist and as a result most work in fear. Caddies are denied same basic rights, like a monthly payslip for example or a letter of service - crucial pieces of information for anyone attempting to obtain a tourist visa to many countries...

A most peacefuland entertaining demonstration with a lot of support.

The management seem slow to resolve theie problem.

At least no invasion of red Shirts to upset everybody.
