Buying A Uk Computer Keyboard In Phuket

Featured Replies

Is this possible ? All I can find is US keyboards in Banana IT, it's no doubt going to be the same in Central & festival. Anyone got any ideas ?

What is the difference as I thought all keyboards were based on the QWERTY system from typewriters of old.

They are all QWERTY but some symbols are in different places, plus there is a 'pound' key instead of the $ key (can't write the pound sign as I don't have a UK keyboard). Also when you load up the UK keyboard driver many of the symbols are mixed up when using the US keyboard.

Rather think the answer will be no.

But I use the US keyboard and then use a program called Keyboard layout manager from http://www.klm32.com to edit the keyboard file so that the £ sign comes with ctrl 3.

You can make other changes as well but to be honest moving other keys is unnecessary.

Yeah I assumed the answer would be no, just have to get a mate to bring one out when he comes over, thanks anyway.

I kind of new it would be the case so I brought a UK keyboard with me but that one perished thanks to a bottle of chang.

I have been looking for you as I do my daily trips and have not found any. I use a Spanish keyboard shipped over from the US, so I know the hassles of intl keyboards. Try ebay. Many ship to Thailand if you ask nicely enough.

Country specific QWERTY kbs are all different.
