I watched the first two episodes of The Pacific on TrueVisions this weekend.  The battle scenes, in particular, seemed rather disjointed and not nearly to the level of Band of Brothers. The editing was haphazard and disjointed.

So I downloaded a torrent last night and watched the first episode again.  What a difference!  Now, things flowed and made sense.

This is a mini-series about WWII.  To cut out any graphic violence seems pretty pointless to me.

Yeah, well, TiT and handguns and knives are censored out in movies. All while the police force can stick their guns in your face if you don't give them a bribe!

Guns are common-place in all Thai soap operas and movies. They're there for the consumption of the entire Thai family so that they learn how to settle disputes and loss of face in "real life"...evidence the current political struggles.

But, hey whatever you do don't let those simple minded aliens watch programs with weapons as they are not mature enough to differentiate good from bad behaviour.
