What Is The Visa Run City Name?

Featured Replies

In Novermber 2008 I went on a minivan visa run with Key Visa. We went over to Camboida to some small little crossing. It had a small little moat, and a small foot bridge we walked over. There was a small row of stores selling alcohol, smokes etc. I have the pretty cambodia visa stamp for the hour or so we were there. Had a decent little lunch in the casino and then went back to Pattaya. About a 2.5 hour drive each way. What the heck city was that? I can't really tell from what is in my pasport.

Thanks

Ban Laem.

Thanks. I looked it up on the internet and saw some photos that I recognized. Ban Laem it was. I am mildy interested in spending a night or two there. Play some in the casino. Nothing big of course, just something to do.

Long time ago, I used to go there for visa runs, too. Passing thru the casino, it looked kinda wierd to me. I've been to and played at quite a few casinos wordwide, but for me, this one looked like a good one to just pass through (don't really know why). Have you played there before? I wish you the best of luck!

No, I did not play there. It was a tiny place with no real decor. Just convenient to Pattaya so in one of my longer holidays the thought of staying there a night or two just for some bar chat later on. I have worked and lived all over the USA and been in all the big places in the USA, Vegas Bellagio, Foxwoods, Tunica, Los Angeles poker rooms, etc.

The town you visited was actually Daung, Cambodia. Ban Laem is on the Thailand side of the border.

The visa runs no longer go there. They now go to Ban Pakkad which is about 40km closer to Pattaya. You'll find bigger and newer casinos there just across the border in Pailin, Cambodia.

OK, thanks. I won't be doing much via runs by minivan because of that change from 30 to 15 day change. Pain in the butt change that ruined a good deal.
