I am coming to LOS next week (can't wait). I am going to be there for a week and would like to take the oppertunity to start a course of treatment to get my teeth in better shape.

I will need replacement fillings, crown and veneer work. Does anyone have any experience of dentist in Phuket. Recomendations and some ideas of costs would be appreciated. :o

An excellent new dentist has opened in Patong called Dental Sea. The dentist, Dr. Kanyarat Suthin (Ann), has treated me before and has now just opened up her new surgery in Phuket. She is very good (she's got a PhD as well as the MD) - I'm normally very reserved about dentists, but I would definitely recommend this one.

After you go over the mountain down towards the sea its on the left hand side of the main road. - 39/3 Prabarami Road.

"The clinic is situated in the north of Patong, between Wat Suqn Khiri Wong and the Esso petrol station on Prabarami Rd, at the exit for Phuket city."

Their number is +66 (0) 76 296 682

PM me and I'll try and find out costs for you...

I agree, DentalSea gave me a very good treatment. Don't know if PhDs matter for doctors, but for the first time a dentist actually told me what she was doing in my mouth and why. :o I think the website was www.dentalsea.com.

Bangkok Phuket hospital has excellent clinics and has a dental clinic at the facility.

They tend to seek out the best clinics in Bangkok and have them set up a clinic at their hospital.

They had TRSC set up a LASIK center there and had BDC set up a dermatology center.

Both of these are the best in Bangkok. Bangkok Phuket Hospital goes with the philosophy that instead of creating its own department it would rather find the expert in that field and have them set up a center. This means that they have the highest quality.

Price might be slightly higher than other centers but I am sure it is competitive.

I too went to Bangkok Phuket Hospital when a tooth "crumbled" while eating some chicken. Anyway the service was first class, efficient and professional-couldn't recommend them more. Not sure price wise but they are happy to quote so you can compare. One thing for sure they are much much cheaper than dental work in USA.....

Thanks to everyone for the response. I now have contacted a couple of dentists who have given me indications of costs. There does seem to be a wide variation in charges.

Still the prices are considerably less than here in "rip off" britain.

Well just returned from Phuket and my Dental treatment. Due to years of neglect there was a lot of work to do and I have to go back for more treatment. Anyhow in the end I used Promjai Dental Clinic and I can reccomend them. All of the dentist were excellent as were the rest of the staff in the clinic.

I ended up getting all my old fillings replaced, redoing the root canal treatment. 3 extractions including a wisdom tooth, tempory bridge and tempory crown. (I told you there was lots of neglect)

The good news!!! The whole lot (plus getting a crown for my girlfriend) less than 800 quid. Thats about 1500 quid cheaper than the UK!

Oh and I managed to get some sun! :o:D:D
