Fire In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

There appears to be something on fire in Chiang Mai at the moment. Its been burning about an hour already. Pic is attached. Picture is taken from Riverside Condo facing West. That is Gale Thong Condo on Chang Klan in the left foreground.

Looking from CMU it looks as though it is on the corner of the moat near the park / psychiatric hospital.

dunno, but a big bush fire just broke out opposite my house in Big C Hang Dong area, the firefighters had to show up. My house stinks of smoke and garden full of burning debris. The dry hot season, grrrr!

The fire in the picture is at the side of Mahidol Road behind the Canon shop (between Airport Plaza and the river). Looks to be under control now.

But, good clear air quality today. :D Can see the mountains.. Can even see the Sankamphaeng/Mae On mountains, which may have been hauled off to China the past three months for all I know. :)

Definitely starting to improve. Here is basically the same shot from March 7th. There was even one point where the view to the Galae Thong Condo building was somewhat obstructed by the smoke.

Pretty much an everyday view for the last 5 months out in the rice fields.  "Welcome to Thailand" as Carlos Tevez might say.....
