Thai gf got her drivers license in BKK- they need to renew after 1 year.

Apparently they get a 5 yr license when renew for 500bt.

Farangs can renew at any driving licence/test centre. I am told by my girlfriend's sister (who has a car business) that Thais can renew anywhere as well. Doesn't matter which province they come from or where they want to renew.

Yes you certainly can, providing you have a certificate of residence from your primary domicile that appears on the licence.

Just shows you what insular lives Thais lead if they need to ask a Farang to give them directions.

Mind you I can't blame them, asking a Thai for directions is a joke. Thais haven't got a Barrs Irn Bru where anywhere is and give conflicting directions.
