Ipad 3g In Thailand Good News

ipad 3G sim

Time to break out the knife for that True 3G unlimited sim card in your iphone..

and not to mention the Spirit jailbreak for iPad and 3GS in the next 48 hours or so.

Breaking the sim is not a problem. But the USA 3g is not on the same bandwidth as the Thai 3g. Correct me if I am wrong...

same for True 3G anyway. Using usa iphone on True 3G in thailand is no problem.

Do not think they will make multiple versions of the ipad with different baseband firmware dependent on carrier frequencies.

DTAC is more interesting because of the prepaid options. I'd use one of the DTAC data SIMs in the iPad 3G. It's not 3G but surely the iPad will do EDGE?! The DTAC data SIM is 150 baht for 50 hours, I believe. I wouldn't want to pay another 600 baht / month just for iPad use, nor would I want to swap SIMs with the iPhone all the time.

Another advantage of the DTAC data SIM: If you mess up the cutting, just get another one. They're something like 100 baht. :)

Anyway, great news that cutting works!

I think a limited plan on iPhone or ipad Is pretty restriciting for both devices. 600 baht is an excellent deal 20baht a day!!
