Re-entry Permit

i have a student visa and will need to leave the country and return back 10 days later, i was told i just goto the airport and pay 1000 baht for a re-entry permit, which allows me back into thailand. has anyone done this??? i just would like to know, what else i need to bring, eg. photo..size? and any other document? also where in the don muang airport do i go? any info would be helpful, thanks Paul

4x6cm is photo size and the desk is in Terminal 1. You must do after you check in for your flight but before you enter immigration area so allow extra time.

You can also obtain at any full service immigration office in advance and not have to worry about the time factor.

thanks for yr replies, and thx for the link, well i have to extend my student visa, in july, and my flight is in september, so my final question is, if i extend my student visa at suan phul office ( not sure correct spelling) as i normally do, and there i can get a re-entry permit, that will allow for 2 months before i leave the country, is that right? or is there a time limit to the re entry visa???? so for the complicated question, Paul

I have just checked my last re-entry permit. It is valid until my years extension runs out.

Your re entry permit will always be valid until the same day as your current (valid)extension of stay stamp. So if/when that stay stamp is changed/cancelled your old re entry permit is no longer valid and you need a new one if you plan travel.
