Thailand's Yellow-Shirts Call For PM Abhisit To Stand Down

Chamlong Srimuang, a core Yellow Shirts leader, said Thailand's problems would only worsen after the dissolution of the lower house, and subsequent elections.

"The prime minister has reconciled with terrorists by planning to dissolve the house, it's extremely bad for the country and the monarchy," he said.

Seems terrorizing tourists want to leave the violence/country by airport doesn't count as "terrorizing" ... hmmm, political hypocrisy is obiously not owned outright by USA politcal idiots ...

I only wish best for Thai people as a whole, I'm not sure what makes people more crazy [same-same- USA] living in abject poverty not able to feed and house family or rich/drunk with power wanting more for control of other people and keep them down where the real :):D:D think the "others" belong ... sad situation anywhere.

Elections with UN oversight may be thee avenue to free and fair elections...?

:D:D:D

There has been no asult towards foreigners on the airport by the yellow shirts, unlike the reds did/do to tourist

"asult" is a "THREAT" against any person, "battery" is the PHYSICAL attack...keeping someone against their will by not allowing flights out of the country thereby trapping ANYONE, foreign or local, is most certainly a form KIDNAPPING WHICH IS A THREAT and so yes there was "asult" at the airport ... minimum, a good lawyer would probably be able to prove a PHYSICAL THREAT [KIDNAPPING].

Since I can see you cannot spell what you mean I guess can't expect you to know of what you blather...

The Yellow shirts should really shut the hel_l up because they started all that mess in the first place. They have no right to argue about anything right now. They are no better than the Red shirts.

They have as much right to argue as the reds do. And right now under the law neither side has the right to do what they have been. Bring back law and order for the people who's wardrobe isn't politically motivated.

Wrong. I all started with Thaksin & Sondhi couldn't agree on a business deal.

OK here's the plan:

1) MP resign along with the entire government.

2) Dissolve Parliament.

3) Knock down the building.

4) Forget about democracy.

5) Let the police and army decide how to slice the cake.

6) Let all Thai people and visitors do what the hel_l they like, anything goes.

That's what the Thai people really want.

:)

Seems with the pads wanting to allow only some segments of Thailands population the right to vote.

and now this.

pad really means People Against Democracy

PAD is nothing without the Thaksin foe. Neutralize Thaksin and PAD is but a small yapping dog.

This is SO FUNNY - Yellows asking for Abhisit to go? what a bizzare manifestation... Amazing Thailand!

Not really if you had read even one post to you with an open mind. You just assumed things must be as you created them in your own mind. The real question is, how much is posturing and how much is real?

Not at all... Abhisit is/was supported by the yellows and he rewarded them with the FM post and has many in his team - even his 5 point plan has tinges of yellow throughout - now they start to turn because they say he's not tough enough! Funny!

Democracy isn't defined as doing whatever the reds say. 4000 protesters have no right to dictate the course of a nation of 60 million.

If any doubt still exists, no one at the airport was "kidnapped" nor "kept against their will" at the Bangkok airport and there were other flights out of the country. Good luck to you and your "good lawyers."

The yellow shirts should have no say in whatever negotiations take place. It's a joke that the PAD are still allowed to negotiate and dictate the government after they have taken hostage government house for 8 months, and taken hostage 2 international airports leaving hundreds of thousands of tourists stranded for 10 days. Doesn't this go under the terrorism law as well?

So why are the yellow and multi-colored allowed to dictate the course of the country? Their protests were much smaller. The point is, not everyone that supports the movement has to be at Rajprasong.

So are you saying that the Yellows need to reach the reds level of violence and depravity before they should be part of the negotiations? Ignoring them only sets the stage for more protests. Thailand needs a solution that respects all Thais and not just the reds.

The yellow shirts had their share of violence. Don't make me dig up the news reports, but when they finally left the airport, police discovered a body hidden which turned out to be one of the PAD guards killed by their own. And let's not forget the guy they chased down the street while TV crews were filming, beating him up and then dumping his body in a ditch. Not sure what happened to him but he arrived in coma at the hospital.

And if occupying a government building for 8 months ..and remember the PAD were armed ..isn't a terrorist act, I don't know what is. It's a joke that the government is trying to charge the UDD with terrorism for entering government building for 30 minutes, but the PAD are still running around dictating the government.

They aren't dictating the course of the country. They are having their say.

They are all minority groups (reds included). Minorities need to be listened to.

Did we forget this? "Peaceful" PAD as they stormed past police to take over government house:

It was the ruling that disbanded the PPP that led to their downfall. The PAD did not succeed in ousting them. Allowing any set of protesters to set the agenda for a country is foolish. Abhisit wasn't PM during those protests and is not responsible for how they were handled. Blame your red brothers.

Let's not get into "But the yellows ... " discussion here.

Whatever the yellows did, the reds have well and truly matched them.

They are all part of Thai society. They all should be listened too.

So why aren't the yellow shirts in prison for terrorism charges? Taking over 2 international airports is terrorism. Holding government house hostage for 8 months with armed guards is terrorism.

It's not fair to keep blaming Thaksin just because it's all his fault. He's like Robin Hood, the people love him in the North, except he steals from the people and gives to himself. After buying the PM's job by bribing voters you can't expect him to not take advantage. I'd say 1.5 billion dollars is a pretty good return on his investment. Give the people some second rate health care, bill the general population for it, and they'll worship you. He had great schemes.

How many reds do you expect to see in prison a year from now? They'll weasel their way out and some dumb red guards will take the fall. We wouldn't want double standards would we.

Are these guys part of the yellow PAD golf team? Or why are they holding golf clubs?

pad_demonstration_bangkok_02082008_1.jpg

Oh, and this guy is part of the "Slingshot World Cup Team":

As you see, red isn't so much different from yellow in the way they operate. So my question, why are one group allowed to run around freely while the other is being charged with terrorism?

How many times do you have to be told?

The yellows have been charged and are waiting for court proceedings.

That is exactly they same thing that will happen with most of the reds.

Since 2 years? And why were they not charged with terrorism? Abhisit has clearly said that the red shirts will be charged with terrorism because they entered government house for 30 minutes. The PAD were there for 8 months ...but no terrorism charges?
