The red leaders want to have equal treatment and no double standards. If they are to face terrorism charges then PM Abhisit and Suthep have to face equivalent charges for killing at least 21 civilians on April 10. Abhisit and Jatuporn have got parliamentary immunity therefore they can be charged but they don't have to turn themselves in before the house is dissolved. Suthep has no immunity so he has to be charged and has to turn himself in. Once Suthep is charged and turns himself over to the police, they will end the rally and the leaders except Jatuporn will also turn themselves in to deal with the charges. The red leaders demand a level playing field in the judicial process. There will be no reconciliation if the cases for ordering the killing of civilians on April 10 are not pursued against perpetrators.

The fact that Suthep turns himself in to the DSI was known already earlier. This is not enough for the red shirts because there is a very obvious conflict of interest.

Don't shoot the messenger - I stay out of political discussions and will not answer any comment; I just felt it was necessary to clarify and provide more facts of what is going on.

The DSI is the organization handling the complaint filed by the families of the deceased. The Reds demanded the the investigations into the violence of April 10 be handled by the DSI. Perhaps he could surrender to the Stateman security guard outside CP Tower? They might not be mates.

So let me get this straight. The entire red shirt movement now hinges on the fact that they think it was 'unlawful' for the prime minister to order police and soldiers to disperse a protest.

The PM has every right. That's his job, the deaths, whilst unfortunate in the extreme, were a consequence of individuals deciding to confront the 'legal forces' assembled to disperse them.

There is no double standard here, the PM is empowered to take these decisions, especially as a state of emergency was in force.

Actually, there is no double standard.

Many of the red leaders today were released on bail from 3 years ago, not 2 years like PAD leaders, and the red leaders' trials are still not visible on the horizon after even a greater time of waiting by the public to see them held accountable.

These thugs have been leading violence for a loooong time with, as of yet, no repercussions.

I belive its a little different having a minister post and in control of a countrys operations than being a demonstrator in charge of violent demonstrations where innocent people gets hurt and killed. No matter what you are demonstratiing against the leaders organizing it will of course run a great risk facing charges if they cant control their masses. Could you imagine a democratic system that gave amnesty to demonstrators just because it happened under a demonstration. That would for sure be a f...ed up political system!

Not shooting the messenger. Suthep and Abhisit shouldn't have to face equivalent charges for anything. The reds are convinced that both are responsible for the killing and wounding of many on April 10. However, their "proof" as they call it, is from a video played by Arisiman which shows nothing but shadowy, blurred figures. That's not evidence at all. I personally give more credence to a hard core reds stating that Thaksin actually seeded the black shirts, and it was the black shirts who caused the mayhem and murder. This group of terrorists have no complaint about April 10th until they investigate the seeding of the real killers.
