Can i check is this hotel closed down becos of Rally, as i booked a room for next week and requested for cancellation, but nobody responded to my email?

I live right by there and it is open. Even Villa foods was open today.

If you have the time you could cancel your credit card and get a new one, then they will not be able to charge you.

you should be right at the Hotel, it is open, but getting there and moving around town from ther might be a problem. If you are happy just staying at the Hotel you will be right, they got a nice gym, pool and tennis court in the building next door, Foodies Restaurant in the Hotel is not the greatest but there are some other good ones close by

Well, yes therein lies the problem. Do you really want to stay in an area that is near a war zone and be hemmed in from going around town?

I live within walking distance. Was just at Villa Market today. The hotel looks open, although as others have said...the Silom area is safe, but we are behind military checkpoints now. Nothing scary, but maybe something to consider.
